2.   Agreement - Redevelopment Agency and City of San Mateo Financial Advisor for 1997 Bond Issue


Communication from Finance Director recommending approval of agreement for amount not to exceed $45,000 with Rauscher Pierce Resfnes, Inc. (R.P.R.) to provide professional services as financial advisor for proposed 1997 Redevelopment Agency bond issue, and continuing services on an as needed basis.

(a)   Agency Resolution No. ____ (1997) Approving and Authorizing Execution of the Agreement Between the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Mateo and Rauscher Pierce Resfnes, Inc. to Provide Financial Advisory Services for the Proposed 1997 Redevelopment Agency Bond Issue and Continuing Services on an As Needed Basis -- for adoption.

ACTION:   Approve recommendation and adopt resolution; or take other action.

 6.   City-wide Quarterly Employee Customer Service Awards


Presentation of City-wide Quarterly Employee Customer Service Award to Caroline Beverstock, Literacy Coordinator Library. 11.   Job Specification Revisions - Librarian I/II


Concur in recommendation of City Librarian and Personnel and Organizational Development Manager and adopt proposed revised job specification for Librarian I/II.


12.   Ordinance for Adoption - Amendments to SMMC Chapter 11.44 (Parking Meters)


Concur in recommendation of Director of Public Works and adopt:

(a)   Ordinance No. 1997-____ - Amending Certain Sections of Chapter 11.44 Regarding Parking Meter Rates.

13.   Award of Contract - Arch Culvert Extension at San Mateo Creek and Railroad Corridor


Concur in recommendation of Director of Public Works and award contract to Altamont Engineering Contractors, Inc. in the amount of $165,363 for Arch Culvert Extension at San Mateo Creek and Railroad Corridor; and adopt:

(a)   Resolution No. ____ (1997) Approving and Authorizing Execution of the Agreement Between the City of San Mateo and Altamont Engineering Contractors, Inc. for the Arch Culvert Extension at San Mateo Creek and the Railroad Corridor ($165,363).


14.   Award of Contract - Wastewater Treatment Plant 1997 Effluent Filter Rehabilitation


Concur in recommendation of Director of Public Works and award contract to Anderson Pacific Engineering Construction, Inc. in the amount of $409,000 for Wastewater Treatment Plant 1997 Effluent Filter Rehabilitation Project; and adopt:

(a)   Resolution No. ____ (1997) Approving and Authorizing Execution of the Agreement Between the City of San Mateo and Anderson Pacific Engineering Construction, Inc. for the Wastewater Treatment Plant 1997 Effluent Filter Rehabilitation City Project ($409,000).


15.   Purchase - Bulletproof Vests - Police Department


Concur in recommendation of Police Chief and approve purchase of 72 bulletproof vests for city's police officers from sole supplier in the area, L.C. Action Police Supply, for $34,449.48.


16.   City of San Mateo - Renewal - 1997-98 Public Entity Property Insurance Program


Concur in recommendation of City Attorney and award property damage insurance to Robert F. Driver Company, Public Entity Property Insurance Program, in the amount of $58,357 for May 15, 1997 to May 15, 1998.


17.   Extension of Deadline for Submittal of Applications - City of San Mateo Personnel Board


Concur in recommendation of City Clerk and extend the deadline for interested citizens to submit applications to serve on the Personnel Board to June 6, 1997.


18.   Application for Transportation Development Act (TDA) Funds - FY 1997-98 for Construction of Pedestrian Access Bridge, San Mateo Downtown Transit Center


Concur in recommendation of Director of Public Works and authorize City Engineer to apply for Transportation Development Act (TDA) Funds for FY 1997-98 in amount of $90,000 for construction of pedestrian access bridge to San Mateo Downtown Transit Center; and adopt:

(a)   Resolution No. ____ (1997) Authorizing the City Engineer to Apply for Transportation Development Act (TDA) Funds for Fiscal Year 1997-98 for Construction of a Pedestrian Access Bridge to the San Mateo Downtown Transit Center.
